Salary Rules - jcbarr - 05-24-2020
So I have started a draft of the salary rules.
I'm trying not to be too complicated, but fair at the same time. Go have a look and reply here if you have any suggestions or ideas.

I've played in 2 salary fpbs leagues and didnt really enjoy them. But I'll give it another shot

This looks good. One fun thought I had was to make the "top tier" free agents not be available until the 2nd round, mirroring real-life winter negotiations and the "Boras Effect". GMs would then have to weigh the risks/rewards of signing those good-but-not-great players early or saving up and going for the bigger fish and risk getting outbid. Just a fun thought to toss out there.

Trust me, I have thought about that. I had a very bad experience in one league that I was in years ago that had a salary cap. I don't want it to be complicated and have a thousand different rules that no one can follow. This has to be something that is relatively simple and easy for me to code. :-)

That is kind of the idea that I am playing with. Sort the pools of players and make sure that at least some of the top tier guys are not available in the first round of bidding. That kind of forces some strategy instead of just going all in on one guy right away.
